Éric Vuillard impressively and succinctly exposes the ridiculous and appalling behaviour of the political and economic elite that led to the Nazi takeover, the annexation of Austria and the outbreak of war. A historical view of the European continent from the present, read by chamber actor and honorary member of the Burgtheater Klaus Maria Brandauer, with Magdalena Hasibeder playing the organ.
