Gordana Ilić Marković, born 1964, studied Classical Philology at the University of Belgrade  and Slavic Studies and Japanology at the University of Vienna. Ph.D. at the Department of Linguistics at the University of Vienna. Main research topics : Austrian-Germany-South Slavic cultural ties, cultural and social history of the First World War (propaganda language, language policy, war art, war press, prisoners of war, oral history, memory culture).  Ilić Marković published on the mentioned issues in Serbian, German and English. She is affiliated at the Department of Slavic Studies, the University of Vienna.

Participations

Sometimes the imperial legacy weighs heavily on Bad Ischl, and alternative perspectives are largely ignored – kitsch and clichés dominate, with history being clotted in the shadow of the Habsburg myth. An exhibition in the public space as well as talks and statements by European experts dare to take a differentiated look at the imperial and royal period.
