Maximilian Zeller studied theater, film and media studies and art history at the University of Vienna. He has been working in the music and culture business since 2005. During his studies he worked in purchasing and sales at the music retailer Substance Recordstore and collaborated with the label & distributor Trost Records. As an editor and music journalist he worked for The Gap – magazine for glamour and discourse, Monopol Medien, Biorama – magazine for sustainable lifestyle, VICE / Noisey and Groove – magazine for electronic music and club culture.

Maximilian Zeller has been active as a DJ & musician for 15 years (under the name Moogle – releases on Comfortzone Records; national & international gigs, DJ residencies & radio shows) and event organizer (Bebop Rodeo, Eastern Conference, Club Hot Shit, Knex or Jack are among his best known event and concert series).

From 2010 to 2015, Zeller helped build WAVES VIENNA – Music Showcase Festival & Conference – Vienna’s first club and showcase festival for international alternative, electronic, rock and club acts – as head booker. Under the motto “East meets West”, the Waves Vienna Festival put a strong emphasis on the networking of Eastern and Western European music scenes. As Head of Booking of Comrades GmbH and the association Wien macht Kultur, Maximilian Zeller realized events such as Electric Spring Festival (at the MQ Museumsquartier Vienna), Wiener Welle Festival (at the Ottakringer Brewery), Science Busters XXL (at the Wiener Stadthalle) or the Soundsnoise Festival (at the Spielboden Dornbirn).

Since the end of 2015 Maximilian Zeller is self-employed and one of the two heads of the music agency KONVOI (artist management & booking & pr). He looks after acts such as Andreas Spechtl, Clara Moto, OSKA, Hearts Hearts, Patrick Pulsinger, Ventil, Kids N Cats and many more.
Since 2017, Maximilian Zeller has been the press spokesperson (including communications & editorial) for the music festival Popfest Wien, and he oversees the communications and social media channels for the international literature festival Erich Fried Tage.

Since 2018, Zeller has been responsible for the booking, live and organizational agendas of the globally successful music act HVOB as artist manager and oversees their in-house label “Tragen Records”.

Festival for Sonic Exploration and digital art

NEW SALT is a series of events for experimental music positions and digital art that will be presented in different formats and different places within the Salzkammergut region. NEW SALT will culminate in a four-day festival in 2024.
