Bid Book

The Bid Book has been developed during the selection phase to the European Capital of Culture (ECoC). It is the basis of the title win. The ECoC-jury selected Bad Ischl and the Salzkammergut in a multi-staged process. The Bid Book sets the guidelines for the program and organizational development process of the next years: core concept of SALT.WATER, program, communication, management, budget, capacity building and audience development, evaluation. The 4 program lines (Power of Tradition, Strength of Counterculture, Impact of (Hyper-)Tourism and Flow to Retreat) are also implemented in the Bid Book.

This is the original English Version of the Bid Book. It has been translated to German after the title win.

The "Essence" of the Bid Book: this short version shows briefly the most important steps towards 2024. Unfortunately the Essence is only available in German. Feel free to contact us on for further information in English.
