ACoC-ECoC Music is the Message

The project was developed as part of the “Redefining Relations” initiative, which was conceived by Sylvia Amann and aims to strengthen cooperation between European Capitals of Culture and African Capitals of Culture. Michaela Schausberger’s project involves the co-operative arrangement of musical works together with the South African musicians Amy Crankshaw and Kgomotso Le Roux. The collaboration between Schausberger, Crankshaw and Le Roux will culminate in a performance of the works by Michaela Schausberger at Die Galerie in Gmunden. She will weave an arc between her own pieces and works by the renowned South African pianist Abdullah Ibrahim in the field of tension between jazz and new music. The project marks the start of the collaboration between European and African cultural capitals as part of Bad Ischl-Salzkammergut 2024.
