He can be seen in many significant film and television productions and is one of the few German-speaking actors who successfully participated in Hollywood productions, including Oscar nominations and Golden Globe, to name just a fraction of his international awards. In addition to acting, he regularly directs film and theatre in Berlin and London, at the Vienna Burgtheater, at the Cologne Opera. In 2014 he received the Nestroy Theatre Award for his life’s work.
Klaus Maria Brandauer has been a member of the ensemble of the Burgtheater since 1972, of which he is an honorary member. In 1983 – 1989 he embodied the Jedermann at the Salzburg Festival.
