Room With a View

Regional Boutique Room Network

Stay overnight with sense & sensuality in the new slow hotel concept that stretches across the Salzkammergut. “Room With a View” functions like a decentralised hotel that networks local hoteliers and room providers and creates delightful special rooms with a sustainable design.

About the project

The LUCY.D team has set itself the task of winning over eight accommodation providers in different locations for the project, inviting three renowned architecture and design studios to submit designs, and selecting typical regional craft businesses to realise the designs. This vision of regional boutique rooms should inspire travellers to discover the Salzkammergut in a new way – from room to room.

The two designers from Lucy.D develop five themes typical of the Salzkammergut, from which they and the curated creative teams develop objects and furniture that can be combined with each other and staged in the “rooms with a view”.

This “Room with a View” collection of furniture and objects based on the themes of wood/board cut, textiles/tradition, plants/ash, animals/hunting, minerals/salt will be presented in the festival headquarters in the Trinkhalle in Bad Ischl from January 2024. In this way, everything will be shown in one place that can otherwise only be experienced separately – showroom, staging and networking.
