Description

Old myths persist in modern society. "Man, after all, still lives everywhere in prehistory" (Ernst Bloch). Myths, both archaic and later developed, have been and continue to be seized upon by various political forces to emotionally reinforce political concerns. National Socialism in particular developed an extensive, instrumentalized myth program.

Myths Power”, coordinated and supervised by Michael Benaglio, is about a constructive-critical approach to “myths” and their differentiated reception in historical and contemporary references. The power and influence of myths – from general-social to its regional aspects – will be brought to the stage, presented and reflected in multiple ways – scientifically as well as artistically.

The importance of myths of traditional cultures conveys on 09 March 2024 Alexander Buschenreiter in his lecture on the worldview and myths of the Hopi and other American Natives, who once spent many weeks also in the Hinterbergertal to spread their ecological, political and spiritual messages.
