Description

Ruben Zahra stages the narrative text by Susanne F. Wolf in his own composition and charismatic sound world and creates a magical poetic work of art with the involvement of local children (choir and performers).

Once upon a time, the children Martin and Katharina work together with their parents in a salt mine. Then the father suddenly collapses. He seems to be hopelessly lost. Martin and Katharina are desperate. On the advice of a mysterious old woman, they seek help in the salt mountain and from the ghost of the ice cave. Some adventures have to be passed, even the dangerous Bergstutzen oppose them. But the children are brave…

Ruben Zahra stages the narrative text by Susanne F. Wolf in his own composition and charismatic sound world and creates a magical poetic synthesis of the arts with the involvement of local children (choir and performers). The haunting choreography by Silke Grabinger and the fascinating paper works by Polly Verity (costume), Kaori Kato (costume) and Peter Dahmen (stage design) illustrate a musical fairy tale that excitingly interweaves motifs from the Salzkammergut’s treasure trove of legends and facts from the history of salt mining into a moving story.
