Born in Linz in 1958, Christian Öhler studied catholic theology at Linz and Frankfurt-St. Georgen. After his ordination to priesthood, he was appointed chaplain in the parish of Linz-St. Michael. From 1995 to 2010, he served as pastoral council in Linz-Auwiesen, a new urban development, revitalized a former textile factory and set up a center for the newly founded rectory Zum Seligen Marcel Callo. Christian Öhler was involved in church projects for Linz 2009 European Capital of Culture. Since 2010, he has held the position of town priest in Bad Ischl-St.Nikolaus.
