(*1954 in Ebensee, lives and works in Vienna). Peter Putz, studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Study and work stays in Poznan/PL (1977/78); Montréal/CAN, Concordia University, artist in residence (1988/89); Paris/F, Cité international des arts (1990); New York/USA (1995). 1978 Founding of Bild-Manufaktur-Traunsee together with Hans Kienesberger and Walter Pilar and publication of the picture-text edition Der Traunseher (1978-1981). 1978 First animated films; lecturer for film and new media at several universities. Since 1980 Peter Putz has been working on the project The Eternal Archive, a dynamic encyclopaedia of contemporary realities. 1988 Exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art Vienna. 1994 Publication of the book Das Ewige Archiv – Virtual Triviality. 2012 The Eternal Archive – Heavy Duty XS, book presentation and exhibition at the Wien Museum. 2014 The Eternal Archive – New Stuff, book presentation and exhibition at Kunsthalle Wien. 2015 Les Archives éternelles, Paris, Maison Heinrich Heine. Numerous exhibitions and awards, lectures and publications. Since 2015 production of documentary films, including: “Walter Pilar – Writer” (2018). His video “Das Ewige Archiv – ordnen und geordnet werden” premiered at the Belvedere 21 Museum of Contemporary Art in 2019.
