More about the contributor

”I am the Hydra. The many-headed creature from the Linz underworld who fights day and night for the subculture. My many heads symbolize the free scene. I was founded in 2016 as the event collective “die geile Hydra” and am now a cultural association. Since 2018, I am so big that I am also entrusted with sacred spaces. There I am then not only the Hydra, but the Holy Hydra. And that wants to be celebrated!”

As an interdisciplinary event in sacred space (church, cathedral, cathedral, synagogue, mosque), Holy Hydra aims to bring the discourse between club culture, religions and society to a broader level. The site- and space-specific format includes contemporary dance and performances, electronic music and new media art.

The Holy Hydra Festival Lab is included in the Kirchklang and New Salt Festival projects and is part of the Next Generation You program.
