More about the contributor

Sabine Kienzer is a Vienna-based curator, journalist and cultural manager. She is a trained radio journalist and holds an MAS in cultural management and in women’s studies. She specialises in the visual arts with a particular focus on mediation. Her projects are planned and realised on this basis. They aim to constantly redefine culture as a concept made up of a society’s values, convictions and norms and to scrutinise its impact on society.

Sabine Kienzer curates the exhibition series art & function – at Kunsthalle München, kunsthaus muerz, Hofburg Vienna and Leopold Museum (as part of Art Austria), among others – as well as the exhibition “Faking the Real” at Kunsthaus Graz. Her current projects include exhibitions on the themes of art and language, art and function, etc. She moderates artists’ talks, gives opening speeches and writes texts for catalogues and art magazines. The workshop series “Associative Localisation” took place at the University of Kassel, the University of Applied Arts and is currently being held at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
