In 2024, this innovative format will feature a series of four exhibitions at Gmundner Keramik. Beginning in January, a series of plates will be presented with 23 x Salzkammergut on a platter, which have a relationship to the 23 communities of the Salzkammergut region. Museum pieces from the state of Upper Austria served as inspiration for the painters of Gmundner Keramik. The works created are a testament to the rich diversity of forms that exist in the Salzkammergut region. At the same time, they are also able to tell exciting stories about the region and its people. Beginning in March, a show is dedicated to the ceramic artist KIM SIMONSSON. With his life-size “Moss People”, visitors to Gmundner Keramik will be able to immerse themselves in a fantastic world that is inspired by the Finnish homeland of the artist. His ceramic figures, which are reminiscent of fairytales, manga films or computer games, seem cute at first glance. The artist, however, also produces a dissonance that gives the figures a special presence and places the viewers under its spell. In the fall, ELMAR TRENKWALDER, one of the most significant Austrian sculptures, will be a guest here with his monumental ceramic sculptures.
