In 1864, Anton Bruckner visited the town of Attersee am Attersee several times. At this time, he was not yet the great symphonist, but the cathedral organist in Linz and composer of numerous works of church music. Some of these will be heard in this concert, framed by a celebration in honour of the composer, including the participation of the local singing group and the tapping of a local beer speciality dedicated to Anton Bruckner.
