Under the direction of Tobias Wögerer, the orchestra will present a colorful kaleidoscope of dance music of the 20th century: Works by Leonard Bernstein, Friedrich Cerha, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Balduin Sulzer, Igor Stravinsky, Germaine Tailleferre, and the off-the-rails dancer Johann Strauss are testaments to the great diversity of this recent musical era. Born in Linz in 1991, Tobias Wögerer conducted as a finalist in the Young Conductors Award at the Salzburg Festival and has also already made his debut on the podium of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra at the Vienna Konzerthaus. Since the 2022/23 season, he has served as “Conductor in Residence” at the Volksoper Wien.
