We explore the variety of sounds in our immediate surroundings and especially in the water! People of all ages who are interested in music are invited to embark on a listening adventure.

Our expeditions, led by Angélica Castelló, Katharina Klement and Christian Kapun, took us to a variety of places, from babbling brooks and calm waters to thundering weirs and bubbling springs. Not only did we discover the impressive soundscape of water – each sound tells its own story and invites interpretation. They learnt how microphones, hydrophones and geophones are used to capture the different facets of the soundscapes.

The collected sound material now serves as a source of inspiration for musical compositions. The participants created their own pieces by analysing the sounds of nature and transferring them to different instruments. This artistic exploration of the world of sound not only promotes musical understanding, but also a deeper awareness of the acoustic dimensions of our environment.

Water Sound Flows

Thomas Grill and his team connect the places of the region by presenting the sounds of water in different forms, using various artistic strategies.
