(*1974 in Linz, lives and works in Vienna and on Lake Traunsee). Isa Stein is an award-winning architect and artist specialising in performance art in the media of photography, video, painting and drawing. In 2011, her studio received the Austrian State Prize in the Design category for the spatial design of the Hotel am Domplatz in Linz, which was followed by her successful participation in the 15th Architecture Biennale in Venice in 2016. She was a member of the Linz City Cultural Advisory Board and the Upper Austrian State Cultural Advisory Board. The architect completed her doctorate at Graz University of Technology after studying art at the Pratt Institute in New York and working as an adjunct professor at William Paterson University. Many performances, art exhibitions and architectural projects at home and abroad form her CV.

Performance “SNOW”, Feuerkogel, Ebensee. 2021: “Von Innen nach Aussen”, with Laura Eckert, Galerie Schloss Parz, Grieskirchen, Austria. 2019: Some Threads and Traces, 13 Austrian Women (Video) Artists, PHOTON Gallery, Ljubljana, Slovenia and Vienna. 2016/2017/2018: Work on live performances “Messaging Art Performances” in Vienna and Linz. 2016 interdisciplinary project INNER DRESS, Palazzo Mora, 15th Architecture Biennale in Venice. LTR-RTL group exhibition, artmark Gallery Vienna, Lajvardi Art Centre Isfahan and Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, Iran.
