Born in Vienna. Studied Theatre Studies and Romance Studies, PhD 1987. Artistic Director Festspielhaus St.Pölten 2013 to 2022, Artistic Director spielzeit’europa, theatre and dance season of the Berliner Festspiele 2006 – 2012. 2009 she organised the 4-day open air spectacle Die Riesen von Berlin by Royal de Luxe, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, which thrilled over 2 million spectators. Dramaturge and driving force for new theatre forms at the Wiener Festwochen, including the Big Motion series 1990 – 1998. Curator of the Young Director’s Project at the Salzburg Festival 2001 – 2003 with prizewinner Alvis Hermanis and others. Dramaturge at the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel and schauspielfrankfurt 2001 – 2006. Curator of the Union des Théâtres de l’Europe 2005 festival and the theatre programmes for the guest countries South Korea and Russia at the Frankfurt Book Fair. Journalist and lecturer for new theatre forms at the Institute for Theatre, Film and Media Studies, University of Vienna. Since 2012 International Artistic Advisor of the Festival Internacional Teatro A Mil, Santiago de Chile. 2023 she works as Artistic Advisor of the Red Bridge Project 3 Lemi Ponifasio for Les Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg, Musée d’Art and Philharmonie Luxembourg.
