For this festival, alongside all of the diverse musical performances by amateur and professional musicians, live rhythms and beats from DJs, the focus will also be placed on temporarily reclaiming the streets in all 23 village and city centers, making it possible for a broad audience to access music of all kind and origins. Restaurants and cafés will expand their offering and use sidewalks and streets that are usually given off to motorized traffic. By foot or on bicycle, the European Capital of Culture communities will be connected and turn the Fête de la Musique into a regional festival.
With the Fête de la Musique, music takes over public space in more than 540 cities around the world each year on June 21 – with more than 300 of them located in Europe. The Fête de la Musique will make a stop in the Salzkammergut region in 2024.
