Why not simply draw a poem from a poetry vending machine in between: Instead of chewing gum or a condom, the different machines “spit out” “fresh poems” or “even fresher poems” by contemporary poets and beginning poets from the region at various locations in the wonderful setting of Ausseerland.
The “Love from Austria” vending machine surprises with poems written by female authors for Austria’s guest country appearance at the Leipzig Book Fair, and a historical condom vending machine holds especially “bergechte” poems written by 14 internationally renowned poets especially for this project. Each vending machine is equipped with 14 different poems that can be easily drawn for 50 cents each. Inspired in this way, you might also feel like attending the readings, workshops and literary festivals that will take place during the opening or the finissage.
From 10 May to 4 October 2024, the poetry vending machines will be located in the Kurpark Bad Aussee, Kurpark Grundlsee and Kurpark Bad Mitterndorf.
