ASRAPHAEL – Hermann Markus Preßl

The choreographer and artist Willi Dorner dedicates an extraordinary homage to the Bad Aussee composer and music researcher Hermann Markus Preßl. In the form of a musical walk through the town, a varied insight into Preßl’s musical work is offered. Selected pieces will be performed at various locations in the city. The Memory Hut (Die Hütte der Erinnerung)

Katrīna Neiburga immerses herself in the world of myths and stories of the forest, Krampus and forest spirits. She has chosen a traditional hut and the forest as the setting for her artistic exploration of the area around Lake Grundlsee. She encountered wondrous figures in the forest, including the Aussee native Burgl Schramml, whom she lovingly initiated into the secrets of the forest. Anna Fišere has used the sounds and voices in a composition in Katrina Neiburga’s video. Together with musician Toni Burger, she will perform in the Steinarena at the opening. A visually sumptuous, ritualised film will be shown in the hut, combining an anthropological approach with a free imagination, a work based on myths, stories and memories that the artist collected in the region.
