About the project

The music theater project Scharnstein takes a radical change in the history of Scharnstein as its topic. It deals with the end of the scythe industry, which was an important economic sector of this region for many years and with it the resulting societal changes. The knowledge of the events is fading visibly. The aim of the project consists of continuing to anchor this important period within the collective consciousness of Scharnstein and the region as well as carrying it into the future. As a result, young people are the most important target group of the project. The goal that is intended to be achieved is that this history will be reflected upon more strongly.

15 performances in a vacant building will be realized. In addition, the project will be designed in such a manner that it can also be performed with a smaller team. This should make it possible for the production to be performed in additional event locations as well.
