Alexander Charim, born in Vienna in 1981, studied directing at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. He works as a director for drama and music theater, e.g. at the Schauspielhaus Wien, at the Staatsoper Hannover, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, at the Theater Basel, at the Theater Bielefeld, at the Theater St. Pölten, at the Hans-Otto-Theater Potsdam, at the Volkstheater Wien and at the Theater Heidelberg. For his work he was awarded the Dr. Otto Kasten Prize and the Nestroy Prize, among others.
